Recommended Installation Procedure

Mark 1 TDR floor safes may be installed in either concrete or timber floors.  The opening in the floor should be at least 510mm (20") square by 560mm (22") deep.

The safe should be secured with a strong mix concrete of at least 40 mega pascals (6000 P.S.I) compressive strength.  Steel reinforcing material can also be used to help bond the concrete and provide better security.  It is recommended that the mix be poured so that a concrete cover of at least 104mm (4") exists around each side of the safe.

The topping can be brought up to the floor level,   but all about 3mm (1/8") for the lid to fit on the to frame of the safe and finish flush with the floor.

In damp situations the concrete should contain a water proofing agent such as "Silasec" or "Yurite" (available at hardware stores).  Whilst the concrete is setting the door should be left open.
